Our three-year Graduate Development Program gives newly-recruited graduates opportunities to gain on-the-job skills through planned rotations of our operations, achieving development milestones and the technical indicators needed to obtain their professional designation. The program focuses on areas most needed by Goldcorp, including engineering, geology and metallurgy, and offers graduates real opportunities, while also making sure we have a strong pipeline of talent to help meet our long-term workforce needs.

How to qualify

You must have:

  • an appropriate degree from a recognized university
  • previous co-op/internship experience at a mine site
  • no more than two years of relevant post-university work experience
  • strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • an ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • self-motivation and the desire to learn new skills
  • strong computer skills in mining related software.

You must also:

  • be fluent in English (Spanish and French language skills an asset)
  • be fluent in French to work at Éléonore.
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • be able to participate in mandatory rotations to other mine sites throughout the program
  • be willing to work in any of our locations

Site Summer Student/Co-op Opportunities

Gain working knowledge and exposure in your fields of interest while working alongside trained and qualified professionals at our mine sites.

The program offers wide ranging experience in several areas of mining, including Engineering (Mining, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil), Geology, Metallurgy, Environmental and Trades. Other positions include underground, mill and surface labourer positions as well as various administration roles and nursing.

Corporate Office Internship/Co-op Program

If you’re currently enrolled in a diploma, undergraduate or graduate degree program, you can apply for our Corporate Office Internship/Co-op Program.

Interns get to know Goldcorp and gain valuable work experience in a variety of areas including IT, HR, Tax, Accounting, Supply chain, Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility, Internal Audit, Health and Safety and Geology. Interns always contribute quickly and in a meaningful way, and we value the new perspectives they offer and the knowledge they share with us.

Setting yourself up for success

Summer employment and co-op internships can lead to other opportunities, like:

  • Summer employment can lead to the co-op program where students complete 4-8 month work placements as part of their course requirements.
  • Both summer employment and co-op internships can lead to placement in our Graduate Development Program and other full-time opportunities.
