Luismin’s Health, Safety and Environmental Conservation Policy constitutes the organization’s declaration of intent to improve the health and safety of the workforce and the environmental performance of its operations. The policy also outlines the principles which provide the framework for establishing objectives and goals and implementing improvement programs.
Integral Safety System
The main goal of the Integral Safety System is to protect the health and well being of all employees, their families, the community and the environment in which they live. The System has been used to improve Health, Safety, Environmental Conservation and Community Development in the San Dimas District.
One of the main safety initiatives introduced at San Dimas is the prevention Index, which details the preventive actions required to reduce work risks in every operation and/or process area. The initiative has been operating for more than four years and has improved work place conditions and helped promote safety awareness in all daily routines and activities.
Luismin is currently working through the company Health System to identify health risks associated with each stage of the mining operation. It seeks to identify and prevent sickness and work related injuries in employees and other workers. The occupational health of workers is a priority and continues to be regularly monitored through the following programs:
- Epidemiological Monitoring Program
- Biological Environmental Monitoring Program
- Medical Examination Program
The main objective of Nukay Mining Site’s Health System is to identify health risks associated with work activities at each stage of the operation. This system complies with all applicable Mexican health regulations and aims to eliminate the possibility of serious illnesses in workers and/or employees. Under the System, regular checks are carried out on health and safety conditions in the work place, food preparation and health risks associated with environmental agents such as water supply and sanitary facilities.
