MINING

Conventional open pit mining methods using loader/truck operations are employed at the open pit. During 2006, a total of 1,031,585 tonnes of ore was mined at an average grade of 3.7 g/t.

The underground operations use primarily mechanized cut and fill mining methods with underground loading equipment feeding haul trucks. During the reporting period a total of 176,709 tonnes of ore was mined with an average grade of 14.2 g/t gold and 302 g/t silver.
