Goldcorp and Opinaca consider safety and health management as amongst our highest priorities. Our underlying philosophy is that all accidents are preventable through sound loss control management principles. The Occupational Health & Safety policy is the statement of our beliefs and principles. We are 100% committed to meeting the principles of this policy and it is a requirement of all personnel to comply with them.
The principles of our Occupational Health & Safety Policy are communicated to personnel through such means as:
- inclusion in the induction process;
- posting on relevant notice boards;
- distribution to contracting companies as part of the contractor selection process and
- other site safety training and awareness programs as required.
Since taking over the project in 2006, numerous health & safety improvements and initiatives have been developed and implemented. The exploration personnel have developed a strong safety culture which will flow toward development as the project evolved.
