El Limon from a distance |

The El Limon deposits, the northernmost of the Guerrero Gold Belt skarn gold deposits, are located within the Morelos Norte project and are jointly owned by TeckCominco Ltd. (78.8%) and Goldcorp Inc. (21.2%). Exploration started in the area during the late 1990s and three different mineralized zones have been identified through drilling and geological mapping. |
Open pittable inferred resources of over 3 million ounces have been defined to date.
The partners have initiated an aggressive infill drilling campaign to improve resource confidence, and have initiated scoping level environmental, social, engineering and metallurgical studies to provide guidance in the further development of El Limon.
History
TeckCominco began exploration in the district in the late 1990s and drilling began in 2002. The El Limon zones were originally discovered as a result of regional fieldwork carried out around the Los Filos discovery in the mid 1990s.
