Title: CONTROLLER
Location: Porcupine Gold Mines, South Porcupine, Ontario
Reports to: ADMINISTRATION / SECURITY MANAGER
Schedule: 5 x 2 (8 Hours)
Date:  January 15, 2009

Responsibilities:         

  • Coordinating the Administration department for accounting support to operating, technical and other support departments.
  • Ensure all provincial, federal, legal, corporate, and professional standards are met.
  • Implement and monitor audit (Sarbanes Oxley, Internal Audit, and External Audit) recommendations as required.
  • Ensure site compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting guidelines.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and quarterly analysis reports.
  • Preparation of annual budgets, Strategic Business plans, forecasts, working closely with Management team, Operating Departments and corporate offices.
  • Develop and implement reporting requirements for operators.

Qualifications:             

  • A professional accounting designation (CGA or CMA)
  • Ten years accounting experience preferably in an industrial environment with a minimum five years experience in a leadership role.
  • Sound knowledge of financial systems and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
