Title: CHIEF ASSAYER Location: DOME MINE South Porcupine, Ontario Reports to: SENIOR METALLURGIST Schedule: 5 X 2 (8 hours) Date Posted: October 10, 2008 Responsibilities: The mine operates a fully accredited mineral sciences and environmental analytical facility servicing both the needs of the operation as well as performing quality custom analytical work for external clients. The successful candidate will supervise a team of technicians and technologists, manage the day to day operation of the facility, ensure quality analyses, stay abreast with advancement in technology and promote opportunities to improve the economic and operational advantage for the company. Qualifications: The incumbent must have a technical diploma or degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with at least 8 years fire assaying experience including 2 years in a supervisory capacity. A strong focus on safety, as well as excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communications are essential in addition to experience in fire assay, AA finish, and wet chemical methodologies. Preference will be given to candidates that also have experience with water and wastewater analyses, and familiarization with ICAP and IC instrumentation.
