Mine Supervisors (2) - Underground Production
Location: DOME MINE
Reports to: U/G MINE GENERAL FOREMAN
Schedule: 5 x 2 (8 hour shifts) until July, then it will be the 5-5-4 (12 hour shift schedule)
Responsibilities:
- Supervise full production crew including cagetender, muckers, haulers, and servicemen.
- Actively promote a safe & healthy work environment.
- Lead, organize and direct the day to day underground production crews in order to meet the operational needs of the mine department to meet budgeted safety, production and costs.
- Ensure the hourly employees have tools and resources to complete their assigned duties safely and efficiently.
- Assist in planning and design of workplaces.
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed.
Qualifications:
- Secondary school diploma or post secondary education in mining.
- Supervisory Common core training required.
- Minimum five years of direct underground production mining experience.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants.
- Experience with bulk mining methods will be an asset.
- Ability to interpret engineering plans and strong working knowledge of underground mining methods.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to perform and work in a team environment.
