Mine supervisor - Underground Production

Location: HOYLE POND MINE

Reports to: U/G MINE GENERAL FOREMAN

Schedule: 4 x 4 (12 hour shifts D/N)

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise full production crew including stope and development miners, muckers, haulers, and servicemen.
  • Lead, organize and direct the day to day underground production crews in order to meet the operational needs of the mine department to meet budgeted safety, production and costs.
  • Ensure the hourly employees have tools and resources to complete their assigned duties safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in planning and design of workplaces.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma or post secondary education in mining.
  • Supervisory Common core training required.
  • Minimum five years of direct underground production mining experience.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Experience with narrow vein gold mining techniques required.
  • Ability to interpret engineering plans and strong working knowledge of underground mining methods.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to perform and work in a team environment.
