Production Geologist

Location: HOYLE POND MINE

Reports to: SENIOR UNDERGROUND GEOLOGIST

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities are:

  • Promotion, support and achievement of safety and production goals;
  • Collection, compilation and interpretation of geological data;
  • Effective ore control to ensure predictable ore supply;
  • Development of resources, reconciliation and advising on ground control issues;
  • Continual improvement of existing processes particularly in grade control.

Qualifications: The successful applicant for this position will require:

  • A degree or technical diploma in Geology, and a minimum of one year of geological experience in hard rock metalliferous mining industry;
  • A strong focus on safety;
  • Effective communication skills, a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work within an open team environment;
  • Demonstrated competences in sampling and ore control, geological mapping and interpretation.

Competency in the following areas will be highly regarded:

  • Experience in geological and resource modeling;
  • Experience in AutoCAD, and general mine planning software, such as Vulcan.
