Production Geologist
Location: HOYLE POND MINE
Reports to: SENIOR UNDERGROUND GEOLOGIST
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities are:
- Promotion, support and achievement of safety and production goals;
- Collection, compilation and interpretation of geological data;
- Effective ore control to ensure predictable ore supply;
- Development of resources, reconciliation and advising on ground control issues;
- Continual improvement of existing processes particularly in grade control.
Qualifications: The successful applicant for this position will require:
- A degree or technical diploma in Geology, and a minimum of one year of geological experience in hard rock metalliferous mining industry;
- A strong focus on safety;
- Effective communication skills, a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work within an open team environment;
- Demonstrated competences in sampling and ore control, geological mapping and interpretation.
Competency in the following areas will be highly regarded:
- Experience in geological and resource modeling;
- Experience in AutoCAD, and general mine planning software, such as Vulcan.
