Pueblo Viejo is located in the Dominican Republic, approximately 100 kilometres northwest of the capital city of Santo Domingo. Goldcorp holds a 40% interest, with the project operator Barrick Gold Corporation owning the remaining interest.

Pueblo Viejo is one of the largest gold assets in the world, and is poised to become a world-class operation with a projected mine life of more than 30 years. With proven and probable gold reserves of 25.3 million ounces, Goldcorp’s interest represents 10.1 million ounces. During 2012, the project will move into commercial production and become a significant long-term contributor to Goldcorp’s production growth.
By the end of 2011, overall construction was approximately 90% complete, with first production expected mid-2012. Estimated production for 2012 is 85,000 ounces.
