The El Morro Corporate Social Responsibility group has been actively engaged with the local community during the project’s development phase. Their actions include:

• – identification of stakeholder groups who are, or will be affected by the project
• – development of a register of risks and mitigation measures
• – development of a communications plan to ensure transparent dialogues with community members
• – regular, ongoing “mesas tecnicas”: open discussion forums, field visits and round table discussions, with community leaders and entire communities
• – development of a strategic plan for direct and indirect community employment, in collaboration with CORPROA, a Chilean organization devoted to responsible development in many sectors including mining
