BC Children’s Hospital

Goldcorp is pleased to support the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation (BCCH). BCCH provides expert care for over 82,000 of the province’s most seriously ill or injured children every year. Many of these children are extremely sick and have nowhere else to turn. Goldcorp’s contribution, raised through the Mining for Miracles Campaign, helped fund two new SMART Operating Rooms. Surgical, Minimal Access, Radiologic—Telemetric—or SMART—technology brings together the advanced diagnostics abilities and innovative surgical techniques that are currently not available to kids in BC.

Canadian Cancer Society

Goldcorp supports by donation the Canadian Cancer Society, which is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life for people living with cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society, in partnership with the National Cancer Institute of Canada, achieves its mission through research, education, patient services and advocacy for healthy public policy. These efforts are supported by volunteers and staff, and funds raised in communities across Canada.

Canadian National Institute for the Blind

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) is the primary source of support, information and, most importantly, hope for all Canadians affected by vision loss. They are recognized experts in vision health and have been making a profound difference in the lives of Canadians since 1918. Goldcorp recognizes CNIB’s valuable contribution to society and provides support through donations.

Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario

Every week in Ontario, seven everyday people suddenly discover that they are paralyzed by a spinal cord injury. The Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario aids these people with the objective of reaching 100% of Ontarians who are diagnosed with a spinal cord injury. Goldcorp has donated money to help support this notable association by participating in the Association’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament.

Canucks Place Children's Hospice

Canucks Place Children's Hospice is recognized internationally for their holistic approach to pediatric palliative care.  Goldcorp is pleased to support the Canucks Place Grief and Bereavement Program, which will help provide the critical counseling servcies that support families through the pain of losing a child and provide compassionate care to families throughout the progression of their child's life-threatening illness and beyond.

Centre for Addiction & Mental Health

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital. CAMH combines clinical care, research, education, policy development and health promotion to help transform the lives of people affected by mental health and addiction issues.

Lions Gate Hospital Foundation

The Lions Gate Hospital Foundation has a commitment to raising funds responsibly and respectfully for the enrichment of health care on the North Shore, and to maintaining open, honest and personal communication with its donors and volunteers. Goldcorp recognizes the Foundation’s value to the community and is proud to be a gold sponsor of the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation’s annual Gala Dinner & Wine Auction.

Power To Be Adventure Therapy

Power To Be is an organization that was formed in 1998 with the goal of enriching the lives of disadvantaged children and young adults. The organization strives to help and support the families and the communities to which these loved ones belong. Power To Be believes that outdoor activities are an inspiration to people of all circumstances. Goldcorp recognizes the significance of such an organization and has assisted with programming through financial contributions. Like Goldcorp, Power To Be also sees the importance in health, the environment and the community.

VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation

Goldcorp recognized, by donation, the talented team of health-care professionals at the "Night of a Thousand Stars Gala." This event supports the latest and most advanced equipment and pioneering research to provide immediate benefits for patients. The Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) and University of British Columbia (UBC) Hospital Foundation provides a bridge between the essential services that the government subsidizes and the most advanced and sophisticated health care possible.
