Pueblo Viejo is located in the Dominican Republic, approximately 100 kilometres northwest of the capital city of Santo Domingo. Goldcorp holds a 40% interest, with the mine operator Barrick Gold Corporation owning the remaining interest.

Pueblo Viejo is one of the largest gold assets in the world, and is poised to become a world-class operation with a projected mine life of more than 30 years. With proven and probable gold reserves of 16.15 million ounces, Goldcorp’s interest represents 6.46 million ounces. (as of December 31, 2013)
First gold production was achieved as expected in August 2012 with commercial production declared in January 2013. Production to Goldcorp's account for 2013 totaled 324,000 ounces of gold and estimated production for 2014 is forecasted between 405,000 - 420,000 ounces.
