Pueblo Viejo is located in the Dominican Republic, approximately 100 kilometres northwest of the capital city of Santo Domingo. Goldcorp holds a 40% interest, with the mine operator Barrick Gold Corporation owning the remaining 60% interest.

Pueblo Viejo is one of the largest gold assets in the world, and is poised to become a world-class operation with a projected mine life of more than 25 years. With proven and probable gold reserves of 16.15 million ounces, Goldcorp’s interest represents 6.46 million ounces. (as of December 31, 2013)
First gold production was achieved in August 2012 with commercial production declared in January 2013. The autoclaves have achieved targeted and sustainable run rates but will undergo some planned downtime for scheduled maintenance in the second half of 2014. Production to Goldcorp's account for 2013 totaled 324,000 ounces of gold and estimated production for 2014 is forecasted between 405,000 - 420,000 ounces.
