The Hollinger Project Community Advisory Committee was formed in 2010 to address concerns around the Hollinger Open Pit. The committee meets regularly to provide operational updates and discuss concerns expressed by stakeholders. Part of the committees mandate is to act as a sounding board between the community and the operations along with working together to create a sustainable community for present and future generations.
Porcupine has implemented a world-class monitoring system, available to the public, to observe the operations of the Hollinger Open Pit. The website (http://porcupine.goldcorp.noisesentinel.com/#Live Monitoring) displays data from a network of noise, vibration, dust and weather monitors that are located around the Hollinger Open Pit property. This advanced monitoring network serves as a tool in ensuring that noise, vibration and dust limits are met and that the everyday activities within the City of Timmins are unaffected by our mining operations.
Porcupine remains committed to open and transparent communications with relevant stakeholders regarding its operations. We also encourage stakeholders to submit community feedback through its Community Feedback Form which is available by accessing this link: https://feedback.porcupinegoldmines.ca/en/feedback/detail.aspx.
