The Marigold mine is a 28.9 square-mile property situated in southeastern Humboldt County, Nevada, 36 miles east of Winnemucca and four miles south of Valmy, Nevada. It is at the northern end of the Battle Mountain-Eureka Trend that extends through central Nevada.

Marigold, Nevada, US

The gold mineralization at Marigold is finely disseminated into the host rock in very small particles. The rock formations exposed or mined are sedimentary and meta-sedimentary rocks, Paleozoic in age. The various open pit mines contain a variety of gold-hosting rock, including limestone, siltstone, breccias, meta-basalts and quartzite. Much of the property is masked by a cover of Tertiary tuff and Quaternary alluvium, and drilling is very important in discovering the underlying geologic secrets.
